This book explores the trade-offs among economic policy objectives concerning tourism policy in Least Developed Countries (LDCs). Specifically, we address the apparent contradiction between the objectives of "expanding tourism production" and "sustaining destinations" in the context of LDCs. We analyze this relationship, which is often contradictory in destinations within highly developed countries, yet may prove complementary in certain LDCs examined in this work. Moreover, given the fundamental role of tourism as an economic sector capable of generating substantial income and employment, it holds potential for alleviating high levels of absolute poverty in these regions.
